About the AP Exam
Advanced Placement testing is offered to all students whether or not they are enrolled in a course designated as Advanced Placement. Information from the AP teacher assists students with preparing for the national Advanced Placement tests given yearly in May. The tests are optional and are for those students who wish to earn college credits. The current cost for an AP exam is $99 ($147 for the AP Seminar or AP Research exam). The exam fee must be paid in Infinite Campus through the Fees Tab.
Wisconsin Statutes 120.12(22) requires the Sun Prairie Area School District to pay the exam fee for students who qualify for free and/or reduced priced lunches. Other students not qualifying for free or reduced lunches must pay their own exam fees.
Students who choose not to take the test after they have registered will have the option of reimbursement of all but $40 for each exam. The $40 will be used to cover the unused exam fee to CollegeBoard and to cover the cost of processing the exam.
