At Royal Oaks we follow the Rocket Way! We are Cooperative, Assertive, Responsible, Empathetic and use Self Control. We teach and reteach what it looks like, sounds like and feels like to follow the Rocket Way in every area of our school.
Rocket Rallies and Rocket Awards-- Several times a month, the Royal Oaks community gather in a Rocket Rally to celebrate all the ways we are following the Rocket Way. Students earn Rocket Slips when they are showing the Rocket Way. This helps us reinforce and point out all the positive behaviors that make our students independent learners. Look for these to come home with students!

Zones of Regulation-- Royal Oaks Rockets receive instruction in the Zones Of Regulation, an approach to teaching self-regulation by categorizing all the different ways we feel and states of alertness we experience into four colored Zones. The Zones framework provides strategies to teach and practice controlling emotions and impulses, managing sensory needs, and improving ability to problem solve conflicts. We use this Zones of Regulation chart throughout the school.

Second Step and Life Skills-- Each week students have social-emotional learning time. They have Life skills with Ms. Morriss one week lessons from Second Step taught by their teacher the next week. Learn more about Second step here.
