Art Club offers additional opportunities for students to explore materials, have fun, problem solve, and think creatively through the process of art making. This is a creative outlet for students to work on individual, group and community-based projects.
Chorus provides students with the opportunity to improve their vocal technique and to have fun singing with a group. We work on tone quality, pitch, expressive singing, articulation, and so on. Singing with a group has been a proven way to increase feelings of positivity about oneself!
A group of 5th grade students that model and reinforce the Rocket Way, assist in planning all school celebrations and provide input to the staff PBIS team. Rocket Kids will give insight in how to make the Royal Oaks Community even stronger. Limited to 12 students.
A club for 5th grade students that allows multiple opportunities to visit each of the six provided work stations throughout the course of the year. Stations include: WeDO Robotics, Simple Machines Kits, Historical Architecture, Long-Term Big Builds, Technic Automotive Kits, and a Free Choice Mystery Box.
Students play a game where individuals try to be the first to "make 24" using all four digits on a given card using a variety of math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division. Students create three equations to get to the answer of 24. District and Regional Competition is a possibility if interested, but not required. Limited to 24 students.
Students are provided with extra time to write and learn how to critique in a positive way. They will learn how to use some of the tools that are provided in Google to be more efficient during the writing process. Students will learn to create their own News Paper and much more!
A club for kids who want to make a difference in the community. The kids will do a variety of projects to promote kindness. Examples include creating toys for animals at the Humane Society and making blankets for children in need.
