Family Engagement Guide

Prairie Phoenix Academy will continue to change the negative narrative of alternative schools to a positive one.  We will focus on students' social-emotional well-being, honoring their true “pathways”  and the personalization of learning while continuously enhancing a culture of care, disrupting inequities, and encapsulating rigorous and coherent teaching practices.  Students, families, and caregivers will continue to lead the conversations in all areas of success and needs of PPA while collaborating with educators and administrators.

Communication
Parents will receive invites through Blackboard, email, Smores, Peachjar, Website and word of mouth. Monthly community conversations will offer parents time to become involved in multiple opportunities at the school.

First 100 days
PPA will establish a culture of care environment where all families feel valued, welcomed, and heard.  This will be done through school events and by offering families to share via feedback forms and advisor communication. Families will have a monthly opportunity to share concerns, wonderings, and celebrations during PPA Community Conversations through Community Schools.

The goal of sharing this guide is to help you find the pathways to partnership that your school has set up for families. You are essential to student success and that you belong as a part of your student’s school community. All parents and caregivers are essential partners in every child's educational journey. The collaboration of our staff and families is fundamental to supporting students in achieving their highest potential.
