Hello Nighthawk Families,
I am so excited to be a part of the Northside team as your Librarian and Lab/Makerspace Teacher. I have the pleasure of seeing your scholars two times a week - once for a 15 minute checkout and once for a 30 minute Lab/Makerspace Special. During Lab/Makerspace we will enjoy great books, learn how to be digital citizens, explore technology and coding, use maker tools like Legos and K'nex, and film our daily news show (starting in October)!
Weekly Opportunities in our Library & Lab
- 15 minute Checkout: Ask your Scholar’s classroom teacher about their checkout day.
Number of library books per week:
Kindergarten & 1st graders: 1 book
2nd graders: 2 books
3rd-5th graders: 3+ books
- 30 minute Lab class: Students will enjoy great books, learn how to be digital citizens, explore technology and coding, use maker tools like Legos and K’nex, and film our daily news show Nellie’s Network (friend us on Facebook for our daily episodes!).
Library Resources
- Access our Library Catalog (Destiny) and e-books (Sora) by logging into MySP with your Scholar’s school login and password.
- Northside Databases: We have amazing digital resources that we purchase for Northside. Check them out at the link.
