SCO (Parent Group)

Welcome to a new school year!  

As a caregiver of a child at Northside, you are a member of Northside's caregiver group. We call ourselves SCONES, School community organization for Northside Elementary School! 

Here at Northside, your children are part of a school community made up of students, caregivers, principals, teachers, counselors and other key staff members.  Each member is important to the success and health of the entire community.  The SCO was established to help support this community. You may be more familiar with the term PTA or PTO, but here in Sun Prairie it is SCO, a School Community Organization.

SCONES is a support network made up of volunteers interested in helping the Northside School Community.  These volunteers help out in many ways 1) as an information resource for parents and families, 2) by volunteering their time and ideas both in school and for special events, and 3) as a fundraising group.

What does the SCONES do?

School Support: Organizing volunteers, promote the health and safety of all children, work with teachers and staff to improve the school-wide environment.

Family Support: Social events for students and their families, Northside beautification, and encouraging school connectedness.

Public Relations: Inform all members of the community about achievements and needs within the school, publish the yearbook, and organize the student directory.

Finance: Fundraising in ways that are respectful of family resources and benefit all our students, fulfill Teacher Grant requests, and assist with selecting and purchasing equipment and supplies that enhance the school environment.

How Can I Volunteer at Northside? 

If you are looking for ways to get involved, give back, or just get to know Northside better, please think about volunteering. We welcome anyone with a positive attitude and a desire to partner with us in making Northside an exceptional education experience. • Volunteer to help once, monthly or weekly. Your time and talents are always appreciated.
