What is PBIS?

Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach we use to promote school safety and good behavior. · Horizon uses our PBIS to promote clear expectations in our school environment:  the classrooms, the hallways, the cafeteria, playground, restrooms, buses, and so forth.  When we say "SOAR with Kindness" we are telling kids to "Be safe, take ownership, have a positive attitude, be respectful, and be kind."  

We have systems in place to promote these clear expectations for school safety and good behavior.  We encourage our families to use similar language at home to help our students recognize the value of clear expectations as well as show a strong partnership between home and school.
