Born and raised in East Central Minnesota, I was the youngest of three boys, an active child, participating in a wide variety of sports and activities, such as: snow, cross-country, and water skiing; hunting and fishing; biking, basketball, football, baseball, tennis, gym and sand volleyball; track and cross country, golf, archery, trap shooting, and motocross. In High School, I was a 4-time Varsity and All-Conference Tennis player and a 2-time Varsity starting Basketball player. I was also active in National Honor Society (2 years), Yearbook (sports editor), DECA (president), Student Wellness (co-president), Theater (various musicals), High School Store (co-manager), and French Club.
After High School, I moved to the Madison area to attend the University of Wisconsin - Madison where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a focus in Real Estate Development. While in college, I was a student manager for the UW-Badger Men's Basketball program (Michael Finley, Tracey Webster, and Willie Simms to name a few).
For over 27 years, I held various positions in the field of Real Estate (Licensed Broker and Commercial/Multi-Family Residential/Retail Development), Retail Banking, and most recently, Education. I also have coached or assisted in coaching my children in t-ball, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. Married to Angela and father to Emily and Matthew, we have lived in Sun Prairie for the past 24 years.
This will be my first year as Varsity Head Coach, however this will be my 7th season with the Sun Prairie Tennis program. In my first two years of coaching, Coach Wilke and I guided the 2016 and 2017 girls to Team State. Also, in each of the years on staff (except COVID year), I have assisted individuals to State. My coaching philosophy is to keep the game simple and have fun in a sport that lasts a lifetime.
