Head Coach: Troy Giesegh
Troy Giesegh is a skilled hockey player and coach with a collective 34 years of experience. Giesegh began his playing career for Waukesha Catholic Memorial where he earned All-Conference honors three consecutive years.
Giesegh moved on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree and play four years of hockey at Bethel University as part of the MIAC hockey league. Following college, Giesegh continued his playing career in Europe with the SCI Eagles, followed by a stint with the Rockford Ice Hogs in the United Hockey League.
Giesegh spent four years as the Assistant Varsity Hockey Coach for Madison East High School, followed by a year as Head Coach for the Madison LaFollette and East High School Hockey Co-op.
Giesegh moved to Sun Prairie in 2006 where he served as Bantam A Head Coach for six years with the Sun Prairie Youth Hockey Association. Giesegh also held positions as Coaches Representative and Co-ACE Director with the association board.
Giesegh joined the Sun Prairie Varsity Hockey coaching staff in 2013 as Assistant Coach. Giesegh was named All-Conference Big 8 Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2016-2017 season, the same season he helped lead the team to the WIAA State Hockey Tournament. Giesegh most recently served as Interim Head Coach for the team in January 2020.
Giesegh is a Senior Art Director at Stephan & Brady in Madison, Wisconsin. Outside of hockey, Troy resides in Sun Prairie with his wife, Megan. Both are avid baseball fans and recreational triathletes, having completed Ironman Wisconsin twice.
