Superintendent Search
The Board of Education is pleased to partner with Hazard, Young, and Attea (HYA), a national consulting firm, in the search for the next superintendent for the Sun Prairie Area School District. The board plans to select the next superintendent by April 30, 2026.
This search starts with posting for the position and planning sessions with HYA. In the coming days and weeks, the group will work to connect with stakeholders and gather information from the community on what Sun Prairie is looking for in our next superintendent.

Timeline
- February 16 – March 2: Online Survey
- February 17–28: Staff and Community Focus Groups
- March 30: Slate of candidates presented to the Board
- April 7 & 9: First Round Interviews
- April 13: Finalists’ Day in the District
- April 14: Board conducts final interviews
- By April 30: New Superintendent’s hiring approved and announced
- July 1, 2026: Superintendent contract formally begins

You’re invited to complete this anonymous survey, which will be used to develop a profile of desired quality and characteristics in the next superintendent. It will guide recruitment and the development of interview questions.

This survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on March 2, 2026.

Some focus groups listed below are in-person only, while others are Zoom only.
