What happens next?

After you have submitted the Online Enrollment Form, your school will reach out to you coordinate tech, schedule's and classroom placement.

Parents/Guardians will receive an email with information on how to access their Parent Portal account in Infinite Campus or click here to complete the Portal Application form. Through the Parent Portal, you can access your student's grades, attendance, fees, student schedules, and more!

Open Enrollment

Public School Open Enrollment allows parents/caregivers to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they reside. (This is not changing schools within the Sun Prairie Area School District boundaries). Parents/Caregivers can apply for open enrollment between February 3rd and April 30th for the 2025-26 school year by completing this online application.

Open enrollment students are placed at a school based on their home address using this map. The elementary and middle schools “feed” into the two highs school, therefore, open enrollment students must attend elementary and middle schools that will feed into their appropriate high school based what side of the boundary line (east or west) their home address falls.

School Placement

All students are placed after Proof of Residency is provided. Failure to provide proof of residency will delay enrollment.

Students are placed according to residence address (per Board Policy JC, School Attendance Areas). To determine which school is assigned to your residential address, please see the School Attendance Area information.

The Sun Prairie Area School District has class size guidelines which help ensure the best educational programs throughout district schools. Placement of your child(ren) in a particular school will depend on the enrollment numbers and class sizes for your area school.

All resident students are assigned to a school based on their primary home address.

Voluntary Placement Process
Because it undermines several district priorities, the practice of Voluntary Placement has be phased out. Only families that have a current Voluntary Placed child will be allowed to apply for Voluntary Placement for an incoming younger sibling to attend the same school.
