Included on this site are some information and resources for families to use while schools are closed.

Weekly Meal Box Distribution (kids 18 and under):

**Our Summer Meal Program is extended through December 31st, 2020**

Families can pick up 5-day meal boxes for all children (18 years and younger or enrolled in school) at one serving site.  Boxes will include 5 FREE breakfasts and 5 FREE lunches for families that need them.

Safety First - Please refrigerate and freeze certain items in the box. Boxes come complete with cooking and storing instructions!

    • Westside Elementary (1320 Buena Vista Drive) from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
       
  • Tuesday – 
    • C.H. Bird Elementary (1170 N. Bird Street) from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
    • Camden Court Apartments (2601 Old Camden Sq, Madison) from 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm 
       
  • Wednesday –
    • High School (Door 15 pick up) from 1:30 pm - 2:15 pm 
    • Northside Elementary (230 W. Klubertanz Drive) from 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm
       
  • Thursday –
    • Cardinal Heights Upper Middle (Door 3 pick up - off Commercial Street) from 1:30 pm - 2:15 pm

Daily Summer Meal Services (Mon-Fri) at the following community sites (kids 18 and under):

  • Rolling Prairie Apartments (Clubhouse) -  (415 S Bird Street) from 11:15 am - 11:45 am
  • The Element on Main Apartments (Clubhouse) - (102 Park Circle) from 12:00 - 12:30 pm
  • Vandenburg Heights Park- (1020 Vandenburg St) from 12:45 - 1:15 pm


Food resources available to the Sun Prairie community:

  • Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry (608-513-1044)
    • Emergency drive up food pantry available
      • Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 10:00 am - 1:45 pm
      • Tuesday/Thursday: 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm
      • Saturday: 9:00 am - 10:45 am
      • School District weekly meal boxes also handed out every day (except Sunday).
    • Free taxi service is available to and from the pantry. Call Sun Prairie Taxi at 608-837-5550 to request a ride to the pantry. Once at the pantry you can request a voucher to pay for the taxi.
    • People can use the Pantry every other week and in addition the mobile food pantry. 
  • Thanksgiving Food Basket See flyer here. Application open Oct 1-31st or until baskets are gone. Apply by emailing SPEFP.TurkeyBaskets@gmail.com. 
  • Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry: Every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm. To receive a text message when there is a change to the regular schedule, text FOODDANE to 555888.
    • YMCA & Second Harvest food pantry: every Tuesday from 4-5 pm or until food runs out at Westside Elementary School- 1320 Buena Vista Drive. 
  • Sunshine Supper
    • Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at 1632 W. Main Street.
    • Guests drive up so that no one has to leave their car, and meals are brought to you. Enter the parking lot off Hart Road (behind the building) and then drive up.
    • Free taxi service- If you wish to use this service to go to Sunshine Supper, please contact Ann at 608-825-3875 or ann@sunshineplace.org to make arrangements in advance for vouchers to be available.
  • Colonial Club is providing support to seniors in the community.
    • If you or someone you know over 60 that is homebound, please contact 608-837-4611.
