Message to Families: Virtual Learning Option for 2021-22 School Year - 05.19.21

Dear Caregiver:

On April 19th, a survey was sent to families requesting feedback regarding the continuation of virtual learning into the 2021-22 school year. Our vision and mission lead us to find every way possible to serve our students in the best way to meet their needs. Based on the number of families indicating a preference for ongoing virtual learning, the District has studied the feasibility of ongoing virtual learning options, and we conferred with many of our Dane County peers.

During the 2021-22 school year, the Sun Prairie Area School District will offer two learning options: full time in-person and full time virtual learning. Whether you feel an in-person option or a virtual option, we can meet your needs!

Greater details about each of the models can be found by visiting our website HERE or by watching our presentation to the School Board HERE. Parents/Caregivers of students with special needs should carefully review each of the FAQs for the Virtual Instructional Model before choosing the model for your child.

Many questions that you may have can be answered by visiting the FAQs for the Virtual Instructional Model. If you have a question about the virtual model, please submit an “Ask a Question” form on the FAQs for the Virtual Instructional Model page and one of our staff members will respond to you.

*Only submit a survey if you want your child to attend full-time virtual*  If you are interested in enrolling your child in the full-time virtual learning model, please go to your email.

We know the 2020-21 school year has required flexibility, resilience, and open mindedness. These decisions are never easy, and we end with appreciation for you as we plan for the 2021-2022 school year!

With gratitude,
Brad Saron, Superintendent
Stephanie Leonard-Witte, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Equity
Janet Rosseter, Assistant Superintendent for Operations
