Teaching, Learning & Equity
The Sun Prairie Area School District is committed to the continuous improvement of our teaching and learning to inspire and prepare every child, every day. To that end, our faculty review and revise all curricula on a six year cycle. Team of teachers and administrators work through multiple phases which include: a process of 4K-12 self-study and review of the existing curriculum; curriculum revisions and instructional materials selection; initial implementation of the newly revised curriculum; a midpoint review; and data monitoring and refinement of the curriculum. All curriculum is aligned to state and national standards and is available for review upon request from your students teacher(s).

- Grading and Assessment
Wisconsin has alternate academic achievement standards called the Wisconsin Essential Elements in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. These standards are K-12 academic standards, are aligned with college and career expectations, include rigorous content, and application. For students to be college and career ready, including students with the most significant cognitive disabilities, educators should include instruction in both academic content, as well as the reading and writing skills needed to demonstrate learning in the other disciplinary areas.
