Systemic Equity & Inclusion

Department of Systemic Equity & Inclusion Icon

The Office of Systemic Equity and Inclusion is responsible for co-creating and assisting in the execution of short and long-range equity goals and strategies supporting the district’s strategic plan, mission, vision, and equity framework while specifically promoting a climate of equity and inclusion for all.

This department co-creates and revises institutional policies, practices, structures, and programs fostering a climate of equity and acceptance that respects, values, and responds to the diversity of students, staff, parents/caregivers, and the community. Our Director of Systemic Equity and Inclusion will collaboratively facilitate the District’s efforts in sustaining a culture of equity, inclusion, and anti-racism for students, staff, and families with a specific focus on the academic and social outcomes of systemically underserved populations.

Celebrating Our Diverse Community

The Sun Prairie Area School District celebrates and values our diverse community. We support and are inclusive of all students, staff, families, and community members of all races, ethnicities, faiths, national origins, home language(s), socioeconomic status, immigration status, political viewpoints, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

One way we lift up and celebrate the diverse populations we serve is through our celebrations of heritage and recognition months throughout the year. While our schools aim to celebrate and acknowledge all heritage months that reflect the diverse cultures of our students, the Department of Systemic Equity and Inclusion currently lifts up the following heritage and recognition months. Please note that we have plans in place to add additional Heritage and Recognition Months in alignment with our Equity Framework in the coming years.
