The School Operations Department is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district’s school operational policies and procedures. We serve as a liaison to address concerns between schools and other Sun Prairie Area School District departments, provide coaching and support for school leaders around school operations, and mediate formal complaints. The department is also responsible for overseeing the guidelines related to student behavior, including suspension appeals and the expulsion process. The Director of Student Policy and School Operations manages school or athletic based discrimination or harassment complaints and serves as the district's Title IX coordinator. The department also takes the lead on crisis planning, response, and management and oversees school safety and security.
