Substitute Opportunities

Inspire learning in today's youth while having the ability to set your own schedule.

For questions or additional information about becoming a substitute at our Sun Prairie Schools, please contact Mike Iselin at 608-834-6508 or by email.

You are eligible to become a substitute teacher if you have an Associate's Degree or higher, and complete the 3 step process listed below.

STEP 1: Participation in a substitute training course is required by state law. These are some of the organizations that offer state approved training programs:

STEP 2: Upon completion of the course, you will need to apply for your three year substitute permit license through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction website

STEP 3: Apply through this posting on WECAN. Your application will be reviewed, and a follow up email will be sent to verify your past employment and references. Once that is complete, you will receive an email explaining your next steps in the hiring process, which will include the new hire paperwork that will need to be filled out.  You will then be added to our sub pool and shown how the Absence Management software works to help you pick up sub assignments.

If you have a high school diploma, we have positions that you are eligible to substitute for. Special Education Assistant substitutes, Instructional Assistant substitutes and Clerical/Secretarial substitutes work hard every day providing critical services for our students.
