Voices of 2020
Sun Prairie Productions presents
Sun Prairie High School’s fall theater production:
Voices of 2020.
A student written and performed production about life in 2020. In a year so full of turmoil and the underlying specter or of a global pandemic, the students of Sun Prairies theater program have taken pen to paper and expressed their experiences. In turn, they have handed these experiences to other students to perform in a series of monologues spread out over 6 webisodes. In these shows, the audience will get to hear of the student’s struggles with isolation, depression, loss, Covid-19, online schooling, and topics that dominated the year including the issues of racism and the political events that surrounded them.
Transforming the space used for musicals and plays into a studio in which these students' monologues could be captured, the production team has crafted a space in which not only could their words be heard but the students' emotional responses can be seen and felt. We recognize the sensitivity of these times and wish to reassure the audience that the words you are about to hear have not been altered nor compelled by any member of the production staff or any person within Sun Prairie School District. These are the students raw and unedited takes on their lives and their Voices of 2020.
