Welcome to Cardinal Heights, home of the Cardinals!
Cardinal Heights is made up of over 1,200 students and approximately 150 staff members. We serve students in 8th and 9th grade. We strive to provide a safe, engaging and fun community to our learners everyday.
At C-Heights, our goal is to deepen the leadership capacity of all students. We are committed to building student confidence in all academic areas. We foster student participation and engagement through the use of high leverage AVID (Advancing Via Individual Determination) teaching strategies. We teach literacy across all content areas, and focus instruction to meet individual student needs. We are rooted in restorative practices, and use community building circles to increase social awareness and belonging. We believe in the power of student voice.
We hold our students to the highest standards of both behavioral and academic excellence. This year, we will focus our behavior goals with a new set of guidelines. C-Heights CARES highlights the five traits we deem most important for a thriving school environment. Each letter of CARES represents an area of importance that we will be teaching throughout the year.
CARES stands for:
C ommunity
A ccountability
R espect
E mpathy
S afety
Our success relies on the partnership between students, staff and families. We encourage our families to play an active role in all aspects of their child’s education. When questions, suggestions or concerns come up, please don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by.
