NIL Information

In April 2025, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) approved Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) language, making Wisconsin one of more than 40 states that permit student-athletes to enter into NIL opportunities. The approved language permits NIL activities that are not associated or identified with their respective school team, school, conference or the WIAA and are in accordance with other prohibited NIL activities, including language attempting to deter undue influence to transfer schools.

Our District is committed to working with students and families to help them understand the opportunities surrounding NIL as well as the regulations and requirements surrounding it. If you have specific questions about the WIAA's NIL policy or how Sun Prairie will operate in this new landscape, please reach out to your high school's athletic director.

2025–2026 Monthly Virtual NIL Masterclass Series

These sessions give practical, actionable NIL education that builds month-to-month — from understanding the rules and building a personal brand to managing finances and leveraging NIL for life after sports. Each masterclass (except for December) takes place on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM and is open to all student-athletes and their families.
